In class today one of the girls was talking about this amazing lip scrub she got at the store and how it made her lips super soft. I get painfully chapped lips during this time of the year, so I wondered if I could make my own lip scrub. When I got home I headed into the kitchen and grabbed what I thought would work and mixed it all together. Not only do my lips feel so much softer now, but the scrub tasted pretty good.
What you need:
A small storage container
Brown Sugar
Honey
Olive Oil
A few drops of water.
Add about two tablespoons of brown sugar into your container. Put a few drops of water and olive oil in the container and give it a quick mix. It should still be very grainy. Add honey about a teaspoon or so at a time until you are satisfied with the consistency. You still want it to be somewhat grainy, but you are mostly looking for it to have a sticky, thick consistency.
Be sure to clean off any lipstick or gloss you have on before applying your scrub. Take a small amount at a time (a little goes a loooong way) and softly scrub it on your lips. You don't want to rub too hard or you could just end up scratching your lips. Scrub your lips for about 1-2 minutes and then wipe it off with a warm, wet towel. Don't worry if you accidentally swallow a little. It is perfectly safe.
Afterwords apply some of your favorite chapstick and you are ready to go!
You can store this sugar scrub in it's little container for about two weeks on the fridge. Just be sure to give the scrub a little time to warm up before you use it again!
